Constance Nebbercracker Fandom

old man from monster house

This, however, nearly caused the house to awaken as the house' main hall turned into a mouth-like cavern before spitting a large amount of green slime water. It then had a beam of light search the house's main hall where the beam came from one of the windows. Here, Jenny stated that the main hall was deformed into some kind of mouth cavity where the opened hole acts like a throat, the rug acts as a tongue, deformed woods around the door acts as teeth, while the hanging lamp acts as a uvula. And for the most part they talk and behave like real kids, too, or at least like characters drawn from the rich tradition of plucky, intellectually curious kiddie-lit heroes. DJ is descended from Encyclopedia Brown (perhaps by way of Jimmy Neutron, but never mind), and Jenny bears some temperamental resemblance to Harriet the Spy. I’m sure Chowder will remind you of someone in your fifth-grade class, wherever or whenever that was.

His bones cracked in the process, causing him to fall unconscious on DJ's body. She was once an unwilling member of a circus freak show until Horace Nebbercracker saved her, falling in love and later becoming Nebbercracker's housewife. She lost her balance while trying to chase them away, falling to her death into the basement of their still unfinished house along with some fresh cement. Having become part of the foundation, she possessed and physically became the house, desiring to kill all the children of the neighborhood. The Nebbercracker's House is a location from the 2006 animated horror film, Monster House. One day before Halloween, DJ and Chowder went to collect their ball which accidentally fell into Nebbercracker's lawn.

Movie News & Guides

After taking possession of the house, Constance's physical appearance is comprised of the different parts of the structure. She has black roof shingles which can move with the chimney placed on the right side that leads to her heart, although the exact location of the fire is yet unknown, although it is said to be in the furnace basement. Her eyes are windows of different shapes, the left one being square and the right is semi oval. The porch and door comprise her mouth with small wooden planks that emerge and act as her teeth to give her a powerful bite. Constance has two trees that act as her arms and she is able to control the lawn and walkway that leads toward her. Inside, Constance has a room that functions similar to a human's inner mouth.

Elizabeth "Zee"

Unfortunately, Officer Landers and Officer Lister interfere, and upon seeing objects that they used to render the house asleep, they wrongfully arrest the kids. DJ and Chowder take Jenny to the pizzeria where Reginald "Skull" Skulinski, an overweight video-game fanatic works. Skull tells them that the house has merged with a vengeful human spirit, which the children think must be that of the late Mr. Nebbercracker, and that the only way to kill it is to destroy its heart. DJ says that the chimney has been smoking ever since Nebbercracker was taken away, so they decide that the furnace must be the house's heart. The children plan to put the house to sleep, giving them enough time to extinguish its furnace.

During the credits after everyone leaves, the house's victims emerge from the basement unharmed, including Bones, who discovers that Zee is now dating Skull. However, two people, DJ Walters, his neighbor from across the street, and Zee's boyfriend Bones, are aware of what he is hiding, though DJ knows more, due to spying on Nebbercracker for years. Near the end of the film, he wore a hospital gown and a white bandage around his arm, probably due to lifting DJ and losing his strength because of his old age after he tried to get Chowder’s basketball. However, this containment also represents a sense of imprisonment for Constance.

Afterward, while DJ sneaks away, Bones (who had lost his kite when he was 10 years old) expresses his anger and sadness over his stolen kite on Nebbercracker's house by damaging the lawn. When Constance sees this, she proceeds to possess his kite within the basement (the stomach) and uses it to lure Bones into the house. Unaware that this was a trap, Bones approaches the kite, only to have it coil around him and the house quickly devours him. That night, costumed trick-or-treaters line up at the former site of Nebbercracker's house. Nebbercracker, DJ, Chowder, and Jenny give back all the toys that Nebbercracker had taken from them over the years.

The old man flies into a fierce rage, yelling at the boy before collapsing, seeming to have suffered a heart attack, and being taken away in an ambulance. In the evening, DJ gets phone calls from Nebbercracker's house, even though nobody is there. DJ overhears Bones talking about a kite which he lost to Mr. Nebbercracker when he was a small boy.

Constance Nebbercracker "The Monster House"

The children, left to their own devices, must conquer the evil that, all but unnoticed, flourishes in their midst. At first the house, which sits on a perfectly ordinary suburban block, seems like nothing more than the dilapidated home of Mr. Nebbercracker, a cranky old man with bad teeth, a gruesome comb-over and Steve Buscemi’s voice. It quickly becomes clear — to a plucky boy-detective type named DJ and his two young sidekicks, and then to everybody else — that the ramshackle Victorian is possessed by a malevolent, demonic force. And since this is a movie aimed at an audience for whom the grosser bodily functions are a perpetual source of laughs, it vomits them up again. The house roars, belches, spits fire and in the end turns out to be...Kathleen Turner.

Hundreds gather for vigil in honor of fallen Billerica police Sgt. Ian Taylor

His ongoing protection of children from Constance throughout the years without revealing what his house really is has made him an unsung hero. Constance hates chowder as much she hates DJ and Jenny, in fact the two of them mock each other back and forth throughout the movie. Constance was a tall obese woman with short black hair, pale pink cheeks, and grey eyes.

This causes the house to explode and Constance's spirit to be released, allowing her to spend a peaceful and loving moment with her husband before passing on, signifying that her wrath is finally gone. Nebbercracker is happy that both she and him are finally free from their torment and proceeds to return all the toys he had taken back to the children of the neighborhood. In the end, all the house's victims were revealed to be alive as well as they crawl out of the house's foundations. DJ and Jenny are knocked into the construction site as a result of the house and Chowder's battle on top of the cliff that leads down to the site.

Horace attempted to calm his wife down, claiming that they are kids, but their constant bullying led her to a frenzy which made her grab the axe Horace was using and possibly attack the children with it. Nebbercracker returns from the hospital alive and well and it is revealed that Constance is the house. When they first met, Constance was an unwilling participant in a circus freak show who was ridiculed for her obesity. Nebbercracker developed feelings for her as he helped her escape and they later got married. On Halloween, during their house's construction, some children began tormenting Constance.
